Pricing Conference Sessions Defined: Workshops, Breakouts & Tracks

Workshops breakouts tracks Sure, you know that PPS is the home of Pricing Workshops and Conferences, but are you familiar with our Breakouts, Tracks, and Keynote Sessions? We want all attendees to gain the most from the Workshops & Conference sessions and will continue to share the BEST tips on our blog and social media platforms. In this post, we're defining our Breakouts and Workshop Tracks, and Keynote Sessions. The Professional Pricing Society global events are designed to provide the necessary skills to improve revenue management, pricing acumen, margins and profitability for companies. We provide a diverse environment for training and connecting pricing professionals with common interests and goals. Our Fall Pricing Conference in Dallas features Keynote addresses from world-renowned business strategists, 14 Pricing Education Workshop choices and several  Breakouts sessions in four Tracks. View the full Brochure HERE. Below are the differences in our sessions so that interested professionals and attendees gain a better understanding of our exciting and informative offerings.

Workshops

  • Workshops are full-day (or two-day) classroom-style, more interactive sessions that go into great detail about specific issues within pricing. They often feature games between teams, case studies, and open-ended discussions. They are usually smaller groups of 15-40 participants, all of whom are expected to participate, and end with testing – an electronic quiz that earns participants one (or two) Certified Pricing Professional credits.
Breakouts
  • Breakouts are 45-60 minute long sessions that run sequentially in one of three tracks: pricing practitioners (those doing pricing jobs and discussing issues inherent to their companies), pricing experts (those who are consultants or academics, who discuss a broader range of issues that they have seen working in conjunction with companies), and tools & techniques (where specific tactics or strategies are discussed). They are usually larger groups of 70-150 in a lecture-style setting, but there are Questions & Answers usually. Breakouts in total cover a large range of topics, but typically do not go into the depth of workshops.
Tracks
  • Our track sessions, as defined above, are promoted throughout the conference week as a great opportunity to interact with the experts and peers within specialized sessions. The 18 breakout sessions in three tracks with insights from Pricing Practitioners, Pricing Experts, Tools & Techniques, and Sales Operations/CPQ specialists.
